Winston Churchill said, "A fanatic is someone who can't change his mind and won't change the subject." Should we as Christians be fanatics? I think so, what do you think on this subject?
I dont think Churchill is referring to anything unreasonable. If you truly believe then you shouldnt be able to be reasoned out of your belief(won't change his mind). However, when we love our neighbor as ourself we have to do more than share the "words" of Christ...so we can not be verbally speaking on the word but have never changed the subject with our actions!
I think according to Churchill's definition we should be fanatics. Christ should be the never-changing subject of our lives and we shouldn't change our minds about the Truth. There's a big difference though between being fanatical about Jesus (the Truth) and being fanatical about other things such as self, movements, religion, apologetics and even theology.
We can be fanatics, we just shouldn't be unreasonable. Winston's words imply the fanatic is unreasonable.
